From the casual sports enthusiast to the elite athlete, from chronic pain sufferers to those just recovering from surgery, people everywhere utilize the tremendous medical and relaxation benefits of Massage Therapy. Using touch to manipulate soft tissue muscles of the body, massage therapy does more than just relax. It helps manage pain. It improves rehabilitation after injury. It relieves tension and anxiety. It allows your body to naturally heal itself. Lori Churchfield, Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), devotes herself to helping others improve their physical and emotional health by performing therapeutic massage therapy that soothes muscles, heals soreness and eliminates stress. The techniques she provides include medical massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage massage, trigger point therapy, and relaxation massage. Clients leave relaxed, impressed and looking forward to the next session. At the first appointment, an assessment of the body is performed. Based upon palpation, intuition and subjective information, Lori can incorporate several different healing modalities to accommodate your body’s unique needs for healing.
Deep Tissue Massage
Focuses on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. It aims to release chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep pressure.
Trigger Point / Neuromuscular Therapy
By applying pressure to tender muscle tissue, this therapy is specifically designed to eliminate pain and re-educate the muscle into pain free habits.
Hands-on session of gentle, therapeutic bodywork to relieve restrictions and tension of the body. This technique takes pressure off the pain sensitive structures such as nerves and blood vessels while restoring alignment and mobility to the joints.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage Is a gentle massage which is intended to encourage the natural drainage of the lymphatic system, using precise rhythm and pressure to open the intial lymphatics and stimulate lymph vessel contraction. Manual lymphatic drainage aims to reduce edema, eliminate bacteria, toxins, excess proteins, viruses, and inflammation.
Improves range of motion and enhances joint function. Incorporate stretching with massage to maintain optimum flexibility.
Referring to a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying light to moderate pressure. Increases circulation, stretches ligaments and tendons, shortens recovery and flushes the tissue. Recommended in a regular program of stress management.
